Sean McGrath and his company, Capital Wealth Management, were recently featured in Worth Magazine’s Leading Wealth Advisors section. The profile in Worth included Sean McGrath’s essay entitled, “Should election cycles influence my investment strategy?”.  In his article Sean asks what history tells us about market performance as we enter an election year during the third year of a presidential term.  A few steady trends, dating back to 1939, have shown that a pre-presidential election year tends to: outperform any other year in a presidential term; result in a gain in the Dow; experience an intra-year performance high during December, followed by July, September, and November.
